WHAT IS HAPPENING?

The information that is coming out regarding the raid on the FLDS compound is disheartening and scary. Although I must admit I have never thought much of this group and their practices I don't believe that they are being treated with the rights they deserve as fellow Americans. We should all feel a little less safe when the powers that be with little or no evidence at all can take your children away. I would be willing to accept that perhaps there may be one, two or even twelve cases of some sort of activity threatening the safety of children living in the compound. I believe it is highly unlikely that there is evidence that all of the children needed to be removed for their safety. I am suprised that this did not turn into another Waco debacle...in fact it may be better to die defending your family and your beliefs than to capitulate to this total repressive control? I am not condoning violence but when our basic rights as Americans are threatend at this level for nothing more than hearsay and rumor we must resist. I hope that if in fact children are being mistreated that it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. I hope that if woman are being controlled, manipulated, held against their will and abused that the facts will speak for themselves. I also hope that if these circumstances have played out based on nothing more than mistrust, incompentence, hate and ignorance that each authority figure responsible for this potential debacle will pay in spades.
